Practice Introduction

Nidus Architects in Herefordshire and Radnorshire

Nidus Architects was established in 2008. We are RIBA chartered Architects based on the Herefordshire, Radnorshire border. We provide a high quality, professional service in both the residential and commercial sectors for a wide range of clients, organisations and institutions. We enjoy working on local projects be it a home extension or a new house.

With each project we aim to realise something special. We do this by approaching work in a fresh exciting way that places the end user at the heart of all we do. By working closely with clients throughout the design process we deliver simple, intelligent, functional buildings that are loved by the people who use them whilst being economical to run and easy to maintain.

We believe that good design is a process in which the most is made of the least. Every opportunity is explored, considered and developed through intelligent and clever thinking.

We believe in attention to detail and that the way a building works is as important as how it looks. We have expertise in utilising sustainable and affordable materials that allow us to work within your budget without compromising the quality and feel of the end building.

We aim to tackle problems from first principles and prefer to find simple, logical solutions rather than employ complicated technical solutions. This philosophy extends throughout our work guiding our approach to issues of sustainability. We believe in working with the environment to develop buildings that utilise passive techniques such as thermal mass, natural ventilation and building orientation.

We are a young and energetic practice who are passionate about architecture and design regardless of the size or scale of the project. We are proud to have gained several awards including the UoP design award and a RIBA bronze medal nomination. If you have a project and would like to discuss how we can help we look forward to hearing from you.
